Coconut coffee (cà phê cốt dừa)
Coconut coffee (cà phê cốt dừa) is a modern café drink made famous by Hà Nội cafés: half coffee, half dessert, and perfect on a hot day.

What you'll need
Ingredients
- 20 g dark-roast ground coffee, phin grind
- 80 ml coconut cream, frozen in an ice cube tray
- 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
- 60 ml milk
- A handful of ice
Equipment
- Phin filter
- Blender
- Tall glass
Method
- 01
Brew strong coffee
Brew 20 g of coffee through the phin and let it cool for a few minutes.
- 02
Blend the slush
Blend the frozen coconut cream, condensed milk, milk and ice until thick and smooth.
- 03
Layer
Pour the coffee into a tall glass and spoon the coconut slush on top.
- 04
Serve at once
Serve with a spoon and a straw before the slush melts.
Tips
- Freeze the coconut cream the night before; fresh coconut cream won't go thick.
